Unsupported Jurisdictions

Last updated: 1 June 2026

Mperps services are not available in all countries. Read more here to understand why and which jurisdictions are restricted.

Why Mperps Doesn't Offer Services in Certain Jurisdictions

At Mperps, we aim to provide a safe and accessible platform for trading digital assets. As a company registered in Trinidad and Tobago, we adhere to the highest standards of compliance and regulatory obligations. This commitment requires us to operate within the framework of various laws and regulations, including international sanctions regimes and anti-money laundering (AML) standards.

Compliance with UN and Trinidad and Tobago Sanctions

Trinidad and Tobago, through the Financial Intelligence Unit of Trinidad and Tobago (FIUTT) and the Ministry of Finance, implements economic and financial sanctions pursuant to:

  • United Nations Security Council Resolutions (including sanctions against targeted countries, regimes, terrorists, and proliferators of weapons of mass destruction);
  • The Proceeds of Crime Act, Chap. 11:27 (Trinidad and Tobago); and
  • The Anti-Terrorism Act, Chap. 12:07 (Trinidad and Tobago).

These sanctions are critical to maintaining international peace and security and combatting terrorism financing and money laundering.

Mperps is legally obligated to comply with these requirements. This means we cannot provide services to individuals or entities listed on UN sanctions lists (e.g., the ISIL (Da'esh) & Al-Qaida Sanctions List) or equivalent lists adopted by Trinidad and Tobago, nor engage in transactions with certain countries and regions under comprehensive sanctions.

Risk-Based Approach to Regulatory Compliance

Beyond complying with binding sanctions, Mperps employs a risk-based approach to determine which countries we can operate in. This approach involves a thorough analysis of various factors, including but not limited to:

  • Regulatory Restrictions: We evaluate the legal and regulatory frameworks of each jurisdiction to ensure our operations comply with local laws. This includes understanding licensing requirements, AML obligations, and digital asset regulations.
  • Financial Crime Risk: We assess the risk of money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes associated with a specific jurisdiction, using intelligence from global bodies like the FATF (Financial Action Task Force).
  • Economic and Political Stability: Countries with unstable economic or political environments may pose significant risks to our operations and our users. We consider factors such as government stability, economic performance, corruption indices, and the potential for civil unrest.
  • Operational Risk: Availability of reliable banking, payment processing, and technical infrastructure.
